Frequently Asked Questions
1. How many clients do you take per
month? I calendar an average of two clients per month, in order to allow for maximum
personal attention to each one.
2. What happens if two clients go into
labor at the same time? I have a wonderful doula partner. In that
unlikely event, she will attend the second birth in my stead.
3. Do you have children? Yes, I have
four. Each baby came with it's own unique birth story. My experiences
help me to be empathetic and compassionate as I support you.
4. What do you do to help me at the
birth? I utilize many comfort measures... visualization, positioning,
massage, aromatherapy, acupressure and hydrotherapy to name just a few. And,
there are lots of special "tools" in my birth bag.*
5. What if I want to use medication? You
need to have the birth experience that you will be most comfortable
with. If you choose to use medication, I will help you understand the
benefits and risks and optimal usage.
6. What is included for the cost of your services?
The fee for my birth services cover two prenatal meetings, the complete birth and one
postpartum meeting. Additional services may include further lactation support, postpartum care, Newborn Massage instruction or a Happiest Baby on the Block consultation for an additional fee.
